CRRS (Worldwide) Foundation

CRRS (Worldwide) Foundation (“the Foundation”) was incorporated by five board members of C.R.R.S. Research & Regeneration Society (“the Society”) in 2003 and was registered in Canada as a charitable Public Foundation. Since then, the Foundation and the Society have been operating independently with different objectives. The Foundation focuses mainly in promotion of Education and Benevolence whilst the Society continues to engage in religious and cultural activities.

Education Program in Rural China

The Foundation launched the “Basic Education Program” to help the ethnic groups in the mountainous areas in Guangxi Province, China in 2003 with the goal to give financial support to students in need to realize their dream of receiving education. These students upon completion of education will be able to enter a vocation and eventually lift their families from poverty and distressed living. The Program had gained tremendous support from our donors in the past 5 years henceforth our assistance has reached out to six counties in Guangxi Province, namely , Ziyuan, Longshen, Yangshuo, Rongshui, Gongcheng and Wuxuan, supporting over 3,000 teachers and students. China has categorized 132 counties to be the poorest areas and 49 of which is located within Guangxi Province which is the main reason why the Foundation had chosen to start the program in this province.

The Foundation commenced the “University Sponsorship Program” in 2006 when a class of 51 female students supported by us under the Basic Education Program graduated from senior high school and all of them had successfully enrolled into university studies. We were encouraged by their spirit and determination for academic advancement and had therefore initiated this program to ensure these students would be able to fulfill their dream of pursuit tertiary and not be hampered by financial constraint.

What we have done so far in Guangxi carries far-reaching effects. Continuing education by teachers is now ongoing and their transforming experiences will inspire their students with the result that the overall education standard will be enhanced. Living standard of the average families will be raised through better education opportunities. Our compassion will be engraved in the hearts of all the recipients and they have all promised to pass onto the message to spread love and care for the underprivileged.

With donations we received over the past five years, we have been able to offer financial assistance to 1,107 teachers to complete higher qualifications, 2,031 elementary and secondary school students to finish their courses, 100 university students and 120 students in the Shanghai Migrant School.

Benevolence Work

Since 2006, the Foundation had engaged in three major relief tasks. In that year, several regions within Guangdong Province were ruined by a flood causing serious damage to buildings and loss of life. We set up an Emergency Relief Fund to aid Ruyuan County in the province to rebuild a school destructed in the disaster. In February , 2008, a snowstorm struck six provinces in China incurring substantial damages and the Foundation had successfully raised $110,000 to purchase 15,300 bags of rice (each of 15kg. sufficient for a month provision for an adult) to distribute to 15,300 families in the six counties in Guangxi Province where the Foundation had offered Basic Education programs. We have demonstrated compassion and mercy for benevolent cause.
